Lucas De Min is a guitarist, composer, singer, and songwriter who blends the rhythms and harmonies of Brazilian music with the precision of classical technique. He brings a unique sound, shaped by a life spent between Italy, Brazil, and now New York City.

Raised in Italy, he began classical guitar studies at a young age and trained for nearly a decade, eventually completing an exam at the conservatory. At home, he grew up listening to classic rock and Carlos Santana from his father’s side, while his mother introduced him to South American and Brazilian music. These influences sparked not only a passion for the guitar but also an early desire to compose his own music.

After moving to Brazil, he spent ten years immersed in the country’s musical culture. During this period, his style evolved as he absorbed the rhythms of bossa nova, samba, choro, and jazz, while stepping away from a purely classical approach. These new influences reshaped his composing and playing style in terms of phrasing, harmony, and sense of rhythm, opening a landscape that continues to guide his compositions today.

Throughout those years, music remained a passion rather than a profession. He pursued a career in computer science and eventually landed a job in the United States, the opportunity that brought him to New York City. But the move also marked a turning point: he felt his musical identity had finally matured, and he now sees his artistic direction with clarity.

Based in NYC for just over a year, he is focused on building his presence in the city’s music scene. His current projects include performing classics of samba and bossa nova for new audiences, developing original bossa nova songs, and preparing recordings of the instrumental works he composed during his time in Brazil. He is also working on a score book featuring his arrangements and original pieces.

Drawing from three cultures and a lifetime of listening, learning, and composing, his music reflects a personal journey shaped by tradition, migration, and a renewed commitment to his art.
